The aesthetic techniques, practicality and creativity used in design combine to improve our lives. Design contributes £6.3billion to the UK economy and employs more than 180,000 people, of which 34% are self employed.
The digital media industry is a very fluid sector with many overlaps with other sectors. It employs around 40,000 people, representing approximately ten percent of the total audio visual workforce.
